The tour to Mamaeva Sloboda open-air museum starts from your hotel once your driver picks you up. Just a half an hour later, you will forget about hustle and bustle of the megalopolis and find yourself in the quiet and beautiful Cossack village Mamaeva Sloboda. You will have a comprehensive 45-minutes tour around its territory with an expert guide.

During this tour, you will not only explore the picturesque territory of the museum, but also find out fascinating facts about the local tradition and the history of the Cossacks in Ukraine. As you enter the museum, you will see a real masterpiece of the wooden architecture – Holy Virgin Church, built in the Ukrainian Baroque style.  Not far from it, there is a windmill, a small pond and the house of the Cossack headman.

Later, you will cross a tiny bridge that separates two beautiful lakes, and continue exploring traditional yards. You will see such typical village constructions like barns, sheds, stables, henhouses and a forge. In the center of the Mamaeva Sloboda you will find a spacious fairground – a characteristic place for Ukrainian villages, where people gathered to sell or buy goods or celebrate national holidays. You will imagine how people used to live in Ukraine in the past and discover many fun and interesting facts about the everyday life of the Cossacks.

After the tour, you will have free time in the museum. You may just relax, sitting in the shade of trees or try some national cuisine in the local restaurant, which offers a variety of Ukrainian dishes (own expense). Otherwise, you may want to deepen your knowledge of Ukrainian culture and take one of the workshops or master classes (for an additional fee, should be booked in advance).

You will enjoy the time spent in Mamaeva Sloboda and get lots of positive emotions. Your driver will take you back to your hotel or to the city center after the tour.
