Your private driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to a charming town of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. The history of the city dates back to the XIII century and there are many well-preserved buildings of the XIX century in the city center, including a City Hall.
One of the symbols of the city is, without a doubt, Museum of Pysanka Painting. You will recognize it by an impressive 13-meter Pysanka in front of the museum. You will see a unique collection of Pysanka, made by artists from different regions of Ukraine, as well as from abroad. An expert guide will explain you the symbolic meaning of the ornament of the Easter eggs and tell you about the role of Pysanka in the Ukrainian culture. You may buy some memorable souvenirs in a gift shop.
Another popular attraction of Kolomyia is the Museum of Folk Art of Hotsul and Pokuttya Region. It was founded in 1926 and counts with more 50 thousands exhibits of traditional handicraft of Hutsuls. The main exposition of the museum occupies 18 halls and is divided into the following sections: woodcarving, ceramics, metal and leather goods, traditional costume, iconography, home décor and fine art. This one-of-a-kind collection will give you an excellent overview of the history and traditions of Hutsuls.
Our tour won’t be complete without visiting one more popular sight of the Carpathians – Sheshory village. This picturesque Hutsul village, situated 35 km from Kolomyia, is famous for its splendid Silver Falls. This waterfall consists of two scenic cascades, called the Big Huk and the Small Huk, that magically sparkle at the sun. You will appreciate the beauty of nature around you.
