7:30 You will be picked up from a meeting point and start a trip to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, during which you will hear interesting facts about Chernobyl, which will prepare you for your Chernobyl tour experience. 10:00 Going though the Detiatky post, getting all the documents fixed for the tour inside of the zone. 7:30 You will be picked up from a meeting point and start a trip to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, during which you will hear interesting facts about Chernobyl, which will prepare you for your Chernobyl tour experience.

10:00 Going though the Detiatky post, getting all the documents fixed for the tour inside of the zone. Entering Chernobyl Exclusion zone.

10:20 First, you will discover an abandoned village Zalecie. This is the place where you will get your first impressions of the Zone that will burn right into your memory – half ruined buildings, soviet house of culture, which still has soviet mottos written on it’s walls and old memorials which was a necessary attribute of any soviet town or village.

11:00 You will visit famous “Russian woodpecker” – monument to the “Cold war” era and soviet military engineering – a 120 metes tall and over 300 meters wide antenna designed to watch all important NATO military activities.

12:00 Driving around the station and exploring its infrastructure and visiting the memorial to the first victims of the disaster.

13:00 Then, your guide will show you the observation deck of the Chernobyl Power plant forth reactor which has just been covered by the new sarcophagus. In other words, you will find yourself safely close to the epicenter of one of the most dreadful disasters of our time.

13:30 A tour around a ghost-town of Pripyat – a city built specifically for people working at the station and designed to have an atmosphere of a real communist community – you will be able to see huge sport complexes with Olympic size swimming pools, nice football field and a hotel any Soviet city would be proud to have. All that and of course beautiful wide streets – all taken over by nature making the main square of the city look small glade in the middle of the forest.

16:00 Later, you will explore the town of Chernobyl and have a lunch at local canteen.

17:00 After leaving the Chernobyl exclusion zone, you will have the radiation level on your clothes checked, and start your way back to Kiev.

19:00 Arrival to Kiev. The tour ends in the center of the city.

Not allowed : open-toed shoes, shorts, sleeveless shirts
  • The application to the tour must be submitted no later than 5 days before the planned date of travel. This time is needed to obtain all the necessary permissions to enter the Chernobyl zone.
  • To book this tour you need to provide the copy of passport
  • Tours are available only for adults over 18 years old
  • It’s not allowed to enter the abandoned buildings
