The most beautiful architectural masterpieces of the city are dated to the period of the reign of the Habsburgs. It was the time of the rapid development of the science, culture and art. No wonder, that the most prominent writers, artists, politics and scientists were attracted to Lviv – a city of the innovations with a rich cultural life.

The famous European architects made a huge impact into the city’s look, adding some elegant splendor and making Lviv one of the most beautiful cities in the Eastern Europe.

Among the pearls of the architectural ensemble of the city, you will discover the House of Scientists, a former noble casino and one of the finest examples of the neo-baroque palatial architecture (optional visit). Moreover, your guide will show you a splendid building of Grand Hotel, a birthplace of a world famous Leopold von Masoch.

Another masterpiece from the Austro-Hungarian Empire period is a gorgeous Pototskih Palace, built in the French classical style. Not far from it, there is a main building of the Lviv Polytechnic University, decorated with sculptures.
