The highlight of this city is a unique Cosmonautics Museum, named after Serhiy Korolev. It is a must-visit place for everyone interested in space travel. You will have a comprehensive guided tour of the museum that consists of two parts – exhibition “Space” and memorial house of Serhiy Korolev.

With an expert guide, learn about the origin of space travel and technologies that made it a reality in 1961. Moreover, discover interesting facts about the space race of USSR and United States in the middle of last century. The exhibition of the museum has lots of rare exhibits, including full size models of spaceships and moonwalker. There are also landing capsules of soviet astronauts, their space food, suites, photos etc. The whole exhibition is designed in a way that creates a feeling of an open space. In addition to the display “Space”, you can visit memorial house of Serhyi Koroliov – the inventor of the engine and rocket that took Gagarin to the space.

After such an interesting tour of the museum, you have a chance to enjoy a relaxing walk in the Gagarin Park near a picturesque Teteriv River. You may also have lunch at one of the restaurants in Zhytomyr (optional, own expense).

On the way back to Kyiv, there will be one more stop in a scenic natural landmark – Korostyshiv Granite Quarry. This quarry is known from 1850 and in 1920s here black labradorite was mined there for Lenin mausoleum in Moscow. Since 1990s the quarry is closed and filled with water that is very deep and clean here. The sides of the quarry are covered with picturesque pines.  After this, full of impressions, you will get back to your place in Kyiv.
